BEYOND THE MARATHON

A few words about the race

The team of "MGS PANSERRAIKOS DROMEIS YGEIAS" announces the CIRCUIT GREECE RUN IN SERRES.

A racing event that will take place on 20-22 March 2026 in Greece and more specifically at the racing circuit of Serres.

A 3-day racing event that will be held for the 4th time in such a unique environment in our country and in the Balkan area - one of the few that have been held throughout Europe.

The Serres racing circuit is the most modern and largest in the Balkans and promises you a unique racing experience. It will include 3 ultra-distance races of 24 hours, 12 hours, 6 hours. It will also include a 3X2hr Relay race and a 2-turn Run & Fun race.

The 3 ultra distance races will be certified by the IAU (INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ULTRARUNNERS.

The ultramarathon festival Circuit Greece-Serres Ultramarathon is certified by World Athletics and the IAU. It serves as a qualification criterion for any ultradistance race required by the respective organizer. In this context, any potential world records are considered valid.

FAQ

Registration for the race is only possible online. Online registration can be done very simply by following the steps below:

  1. Select the race you want from the tables at the bottom of the page or from the page Races by pressing the "REGISTER" button
  2. You will then be taken to the "Registration Completion" page where you will need to fill in all the necessary fields with your details.
  3. The registration process is completed by clicking on the "REGISTER IN THE RACE" button,
  4. You are then transferred to the secure environment of Piraeus Bank to pay the participation fee with your credit or debit card.
  5. After payment you will be redirected to the "Registration Confirmation" page and you will receive an email to complete/confirm your registration.

We invite you to the Facebook page that we have created, through which you can be informed about the latest news for the race and chat with the other athletes who will take part in the SERRES CIRCUIT RUN.

On Friday 20 March at 19:00 the welcome ceremony for the athletes will take place at the Serres Chamber of Commerce.
There will also be a detailed analysis of the races and all last minute questions will be answered by the athletes.

The performance of the athletes' numbers will be done for the races of 24 hours, 12 hours, 6 hours and 3X2hr on Thursday 19 March by the secretariat of the event which will be located in Kroniou Square from 17:00 to 21:00.

Access to Serres is by road. The city has an integrated road network that connects it with all the regions it borders. The Promachonas customs gives access to visitors from the neighbouring Balkan countries.

As for visitors wanting to travel with airplane, Serres is located closest to Thessaloniki Airport (SKG).

3X2hr Relay

A team relay race where each athlete will run for 2 hours on the circuit out of their team's 6 hours.

The athlete's goal is to cover the greatest possible distance for the benefit of the team, and after the other 2 teammates have run for 2 hours each, the total distance covered by the team will be added up.

In the women's race the world record is held by Yalemzerf Yehualow with a time of 1:03:43, a record that was set in 2021 in Ireland.

The national record for women is held by Ourania Reboulis with a time of 1:11:52, which was set in 2016 in the Netherlands.
